Located less than 2 hours away from Auckland, Pauanui Beach is the perfect place to getaway from the busy, and indulge in the natural. 


The Lodge is set on the hillside, in a large expanse of NZ native bush, and offers stunning views that you wont find anywhere else!

The Main Lodge - with a commercial kitchen, spacious function areas, large outdoor area, indoor fireplace,game room,  and large deck/BBQ Area.

Two large domitories - which can accomodate up to 40 people with large communal bathrooms

There is so much to see and do in Pauanui!

Beach: From The Lodge it is only a 5 min walk to the south end of the beach.  You can get surf lessons or hire a surf or paddle board from the Outback Surf School. If you are interested in going for a fish, we can organize a charter with our preferred local operators.

Recreation: If you are looking for a great team building activity, you can book in a game of paintball at The Lodge. 

If you are keen on a round of golf, there are two 9 hole golf courses located within the town itself  for you to play on. These are fun and suitable for all levels and are run through the Pauanui Club. If you are looking for a more serious round of golf, you can head a few km outside of town to play the internationally renown Lakes Resort Golf Course, which also has a driving range.

There are also a number of tennis courts located throughout Pauanui. You can purchase tokens to play on these from the Information Centre or the Pauanui Club.

Shopping: From The Lodge it is only a 5 min walk down to the shopping centre. At the shopping centre you'll find : a bakery, liquor shop, video shop, surf shop, cafe, takeaways, sports bar, clothing boutique, gift shops, hairdresser, library, medical centre, restaurant, grocery store, and a marine shop. The Church is also located adjacent to the shopping centre.

Walking/Hiking/Biking: There are lots of trails to be found in the bush behind The Lodge. The climb up Mount Pauanui is also a very popular walk/hike, with spectacular views at the top. There are also a number of enjoyable walks and paths around town, which are a great way to see the town.

Tairua: The ferry to Tairua is a great excursion for a change in scene. Once there, you will find a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants.
